About Us

We are a non-profit organization with a passion for making positive changes in our communities.

Our Vision

The Good Guides’ vision is to work with GTA’s vulnerable populations and empower these individuals to make positive lifestyle changes themselves.

Our approach will improve our social environment and strengthen the communities we live in as we work towards improving our current youth and promoting the development of a self-reliant youth population.

Our Mission

The Good Guides seeks to develop a positive relationship with at-risk communities by connecting with youth and their families by engaging in social activities.

The Good Guides aims to serve our local community by becoming leaders and working with at-risk youth to become self-motivated, empowered, and develop strong social skills to encourage them to reach their full potential.

We also aim to foster a therapeutic relationship with these children with a holistic approach to transforming the lives of the communities in which the youth work from within.

Our Core Values

  • INCLUSIVITY: We believe ALL individuals should have equal opportunity - no youth left behind!

  • RESPECT: We believe young people must be in a caring and inclusive environment that promotes individuality and reinforces self, social and most importantly, communal respect

  • EMPOWERMENT: Through mentorship, we aim to empower youth and their families to make positive lifestyle changes

  • CREATIVITY: We are constantly readjusting our approach within the community in order to be as effective as possible. Society is always evolving and changing, in order to create meaningful change, we will continue to evolve as well

The Good Guides believes that the youth should be on the front lines of repairing our communities.

No one else can truly understand the trials and tribulations that our children today face than the youth themselves.

We believe in placing our youngsters in the driver’s seat and providing them with the opportunity and resources to develop new, vibrant, and relevant resources for their communities.

Allocating these resources directly back to our community members only increases the effectiveness of our programs and initiatives.

This coincidingly provides youth 12-29 with the opportunity to have a co-op or volunteer placement to gain volunteer hours, school credits, and/or compensation for their work.
